Our Programs
At St Mary MacKillop Primary School, students participate in a range of specialist learning areas that enrich the curriculum and support the development of confident, creative and capable learners. Our specialist programs foster curiosity, collaboration and personal growth while extending learning beyond the classroom through a variety of extracurricular opportunities, including swimming, cross country and athletics carnivals, cultural immersion experiences and whole school events.
Physical Education
Through Physical Education, students develop fundamental movement skills, teamwork and an understanding of healthy and active lifestyles. Learning experiences promote participation, resilience and cooperation while encouraging lifelong engagement in physical activity.
Interschool sport also forms an important part of our Physical Education program and school culture. Students in Years 5 and 6 have opportunities to represent the school through weekly interschool sport.
Performing Arts
Performing Arts encourages students to communicate ideas through music, drama and movement. Students develop confidence, creativity and collaboration skills through performance, rehearsal and shared artistic experiences, with opportunities to participate in school performances and celebrations.
Visual Arts
Visual Arts provides opportunities for students to explore creativity and self expression through a range of artistic techniques and materials. Students experiment, create and reflect on their work while developing confidence and appreciation for artistic expression.
Digital Technologies
Students develop computational thinking, creativity and problem solving skills through engaging digital learning experiences. They explore coding, robotics, digital design and responsible technology use, preparing them to be confident and ethical users of technology in a contemporary world.
Italian
Students learn the Italian language while developing an appreciation of culture, traditions and global perspectives. Through speaking, listening and interactive experiences, students build communication skills and intercultural understanding.
